A group of internists fed up of the lack of proper scientific activities to enforce their branch decided that it is high time to start something valuable, ambitious & full of fruitful ideas to regain the fading glamour of Internal medicine, a branch of medicine which the mother of all branches.
Our group needed something extraordinary… something different … fascinating… we needed a success strong enough to get Internal Medicine back to the track… to get Internal Medicine back to: Internal Medicine….To regain its scientific power as the basis of Medicine.
One can’t deny the influence & importance of the spreading tide of the different subspecialties….. However you shouldn’t forget the solid truth: they all emerged & they all belong to Internal Medicine and they should all be supported by a strong basic background of good knowledge of Internal Medicine.
Aren’t you nostalgic about the great old days when an Internist was looked at as a wealth of health knowledge and a fortune of medical ideas?
Aren’t you looking forward, as an internist, to be proud of yourself as a person capable of treating complicated diseases and helping poor patients with multisystem problems who are often misdirected among subspecialties?
Aren’t you willing to be the maestro who leads the orchestra?
Aren’t you curious to know how we planned to rescue our specialty?
Aren’t you willing to start with us this very long way & to join us in this very difficult but noble job?
Aren’t you enthusiastic to have a role, an honorable one, in giving a raise to Medicine in our country so as to match that in other developed countries?
Aren’t you self-challenged to participate as an active member in the community you live in by giving the first priority to perfect medical care??
Didn’t you notice, as we did, that our specialty “Internal medicine” has been in great danger of being torn apart and overtaken by other numerous subspecialties??
Aren’t you motivated to upgrade your efforts so as to upgrade your specialty?
Aren’t you hoping to give us a hand in our very first steps to fulfill our dreams of a Utopian medicine??
We know the way, because we put the plan and we had the idea.
We can guide you with us in our common way by giving you all the details of our enterprise & by updating you with the golden tips of perseverance in this errand.
So, simply, don’t hesitate to share with us the very first moments, which are the hardest.

The Motto of MESI will be: “ Back to Internal Medicine ” , or let it be: “ Up where we belong ” .
Let’s work together hand in hand each and every day.., in our daily activities.., each and every year in our annual conferences and conventions.., under the name of our society.., to put our specialty back in its right place…….right on top of the top.., because there it should belong…!!!
